THE INCEPTION STORY
The story began when Mr Maulik Shah and Mr Santosh Sahu met. At that time, Santosh Sahu was collaborating with a company and using the warehouses of Maulik Shah.
While working in the industry, they found that Warehousing in Agri is a specialised service. Few players are into the benefits and whoever is there on a tiny scale because it requires lots of trusts and operational control. During that phase, the industry was suffering from low confidence and below-standard services, which made the visionaries keep the foundation of Go Green, a Warehousing company to provide personalised services in the industry and create trust and transparency at one end and fast decision-making by involving owners being a part of management to grow fast.
THE GO GREEN DIFFERENCE – A SOLE SERVICE PROVIDER IN THE INDUSTRY IN AGRI
Go Green is the only service provider in the industry that is specifically operating in the Agri Industry. They believe that Trading and Financing Commodities are not their forte as many players in the industry take care of the same.
They are continuously focusing on the essential services their peers have forgotten and entered Trading and Financing activities, creating conflicts of interest in their respective ventures. Being purely a service provider, the team strives to be reliable and support all clients in their growth.
EVOLVING WITH THE INDUSTRY
The logistics segment is slowly moving toward the processor to farmer’s mode of procurement in the back end and on the consumer side. All are moving toward packaged e-commerce deliveries. Being a service provider, Go Green is actively exploring opportunities to enter both forward and backward integration to be a more significant part of the value chain.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT, THE MAIN DRIVING FORCE
A dedicated research & development team at Go Green does market research and first goes for small pilots for new services for a specific group of clients to evaluate the market before launching in India. Recently, the company could become a leading Collateral Manager in India, managing approximately 35 banks’ total portfolio of commodity pledge finance worth Rs. 4000 Cr. Initially, it was started with eNWR with ICICI Bank and Bank of Baroda with two locations in Gujarat, developed the Sops and process, then approached the banks and penetrated deep into the market.
THE WORK CULTURE
Go Green follows the same cultural rule for the hierarchy from top to bottom. Being a start-up-like company, everyone is treated equally here and works as a family.
Transparency, role change, a continuous learning environment, mentors, an open-door policy, and clear KRAs with Incentives and bonus structure are some of the effective strategies the company follows to keep its employees motivated.
DEALING WITH THE UNCERTAINTIES OF 2020
Uncertainty was not there in Food and Agri sector in the last two years. But to manage the tensions, the company decided to diversify its geographies to multiple districts in India and into distinct kinds of Clients. Moreover, they ensured that they were not solely dependent on warehousing by creating allied activities to bear the cost of operations.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND MILESTONES
Go Green Warehouses has accomplished several milestones and awards that bear testament to the excellence and focus that it brings to its customers. The company has established its presence in 19+ states with an average Warehousing Volume of 30 Lacks MT/Month, a Commodity Collateral Management portfolio of 33 banks, and an AUM of more than Rs. 4000 + Crores this year.
